Jamar Bates is Principal of Bates Insurance Group dba Bates Insurance Group. Bates Insurance Group is a Comprehensive Financial planning firm specializing in the areas of Insurance, Investments, Real Estate and Mortgage Financing.

A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Bates joined the United States Marine Corps in 1987 receiving an honorable discharge in 1991 after serving in Desert Storm/Desert Shield and is now a Combat disabled Veteran. After leaving the Marines he spent several years as a Federal Officer with the Department of Justice. Mr. Bates began aquiring investment properties in 1995 and later became a licensed realtor in 1987 he opened Bates Realty Group in 2001 and became one of the fastest growing firms in Metro Smyrna either building homes or selling residential and commercial properties. Mr. Bates later expanded and opened Bates Mortgage Group originating and refinancing residential and commercial loans in all 50 states. Upon the market collapse in 2008 he took his talents internationally as a consultant in Dubai for a fortune 500 company subsidiary.

After obtaining his securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65) he opened Bates Insurance Group to offer comprehensive financial plans to help his clients take a holistic approach to protect his assets and build wealth thru a plethora of investments, insurance and mortgage products and real estate strategies.

Jamar has been quoted in the Forbes magazine, Wall Street Journal, Black Enterprise, and Atlanta Tribune. When he is not totally engaged in helping his clients, Jamar enjoys skiing, snowboarding, SCUBA diving, flying airplanes as a private pilot as well as traveling internationally with his wife Regina.
